The Performance Paradox Book Cover

At The Culture Think Tank we’re always learning – constantly learning. Reflecting on the previous. Discussing the new. And interpreting all of it.

The goal is to see how we can help our clients continually work towards growing a healthy culture.

You already know we provide leaders with the data and metrics needed to improve their company’s culture.

And once they have this information, it’s time to take some action. The simplicity of this approach is very effective.

And The Performance Paradox approach helps them do just that.

The author, Eduardo Briceno, has taken the concept of improving performance and broken it down into two phases with clear actions in each.

The first phase is the Learning Zone.

And as the name implies, this is where an organization, a team, or individual is provided with information they need to move forward. And as with anything requiring change, reflection is a key component of determining success. It’s about identifying a goal, the items that support achieving that goal as well as those that may hinder success. It also includes identifying the values that help drive success.

The second phase is the Performance Zone.

This is where the organization takes what they’ve learned and creates an action plan. This serves not only as a roadmap to clearly communicate their plans to employees, but also has a component that directs leaders to identify what they actually accomplished.

The concept of breaking out learning from performance isn’t new. However, the author’s concept and zone approach provides a simple, elegant and very effective path that leaders can take to ultimately see the results they want.

Don’t hesitate to pick up a copy and see if it can guide you, your leadership team or your managers toward improved communication, learning, and performance that helps build a stronger culture.
